Meet Makynzi Horton

Makynzi is a Senior at Westwood High School in Memphis. Her JAGTN teacher, Tangua Houston, said, “ I picked this student because she is very outgoing and willing to help her peers and teachers with anything they need.  Her smile and genuine kindness are infectious to everyone that crosses her path.  This young lady truly loves being a JAG student. She has made several statements that JAG provides opportunities that students would not normally have in High School.

Mykenzi has a 4.5 GPA and she wants to attend Howard University or Louisiana State to study towards her dream of becoming a Pediatric Surgeon.

 She was voted by her Westwood JAG peers to serve as their Second Vice President for this school year.  She was also chosen to serve for the 2024/2025 as the Secretary of the JAG TN State Officers. “ We are proud to feature Makynzi as an Outstanding JAGTN Student!
